Bring sexy back with an aluminium ute canopy

Ullrich Aluminium works with some incredibly talented fabricators around Australia and New Zealand, with some specialising in schmick custom aluminium ute canopy builds.

Does size matter?

Of course, it doesn’t when it comes to customising utes! Not limited to the giants of the ute world, most fabricators work with any type of ute – Triton, Ranger, HiLux, Amarok, D Max, Navara, Landcruiser, Jumbuck, Brumby – they do it all.

But in the last year, size has mattered regarding workspace to Tasmanian business ProFab.

The ProFab workspace has doubled in size because they’ve built a reputation of being a leading custom tray and canopy building specialist with their detailed workmanship.

Chris Tanner and Chris McGrath, Directors of ProFab, now employ three welders plus Chris Tanner’s wife, who manages administration and payroll.

First up we have a Dodge RAM, in a racy satin black with matching satin black ladder.

Then there is this sexy beast, an F250, which has been 2pac colour matched.

Why do ProFab use Ullrich Aluminium?

Since Profab was established in 2013 they have used Ullrich Aluminium products.

Chris Tanner explains, “Initially we chose Ullrich just based on pricing and the convenience of them having pretty much any aluminium materials that we needed. As time’s gone by, we’ve built some really great business relationships with the Ullrich guys. For us now, it’s the fact that we can rely on them and I can call them at three in the afternoon needing some materials and it’ll be on our doorstep first thing the next morning.”

ProFab frequently uses Ullrich Aluminium’s PVC coated sheets, extruded rectangular hollow section lengths, extruded channel lengths and extruded tube lengths for their metal canopy backs. 

Every build is unique to cater for their client’s specific needs. For example, removable toolboxes are a great solution when people want their ute to have a dual purpose, transforming from ‘Week Day Builder’ to ‘Weekend Camper’ in minutes.

Aluminium toolboxes keep tools safe, dust-free and dry during the workweek, and then they can be removed and stored in the garage while the happy campers take off for the weekend.
