Take up ‘herb’an farming!

Living in an urban jungle and growing delicious herbs and vegetables without much space and soil is a great ‘thyme’ saver when using the Cube Block Modular System. Check out this innovative herb garden idea from one of our customers. “We love how malleable the aluminium modular system is. We make kits using a simple frame, attaching legs and creating gully systems with or without pots. We choose the cube block modular system because it’s rigid yet lightweight and a cost-effective solution,” they said.

Fabrication for feathered friends

Self-confessed ‘crazy bird lady’, Louise, has recently upgraded her bird room for her two macaws and three Eclectus parrots using the modular system with diamond mesh and says it was “So easy to work with… It was so simple – and cheep” (pun intended). “These types (of cages) cost me a thousand each. The three we just built are bigger and cost $1200 for the lot instead of $1,000 per cage from elsewhere. Paula at Carole Park was awesome to deal with… I adore this product.”

Benefits of using the modular system

Firstly, the only tool you’ll need to assemble your project is a plastic or rubber mallet. There are no bolts or screws, so keep the allen keys and power drills in the shed for another day. The aluminium square tube system assembles in minutes and the sturdy yet lightweight construction disassembles easily for transit or storage. It can also be rearranged or extended for changing circumstances. If you expand your flock, trinket collection or just keep winning trophies and medals like our Aussie Olympians, the system can be adapted and reused just like Lego.

Aluminium is lightweight so you don’t need mega muscles to hold the tubes in place while assembling or moving your project around. Aluminium is as strong as steel so provides a sturdy solution for your creation.

Cube shapes are robust and to keep longer legs strong, you can add tubing for reinforcement. Once your project literally has legs, use either casters or end caps to finish it off. Casters make moving your item a breeze and end caps prevent scuffing on your floors.

The Cube Block Modular System comes in a range of colours to suit your decor. Standard tube finishes are plain milled, anodised silver or powder-coated in white and bronze and if you’re after a glossy look, tubes can also be painted with enamel. The connectors, called jointers, are made from heavy-duty injection-moulded plastic and are available in black or white. Horizontal and vertical panels come in a choice of either timber or glass and fit flush with the frame.

Finally, standard tube lengths come in a wide range but we can cut them for you to suit your project if you need a different size.

Tips

  • Remember the 5 P’s: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance!
  • Carefully plan your assembly before you purchase your components
  • Minimise the number of different tube lengths to as few as possible
  • Check out our Modular Systems brochure for a guide to which accessories you’ll need
