Ullrich Aluminium achieve Physical Edge Protection Design Verification

Ullrich Aluminium’s Physical Edge Protection has recently been independently Design Verified in accordance with the AS 1657-2018 fixed platforms, walkways, stairways and ladders – design, construction and installation standard.

The stanchions, handrails and stanchion platforms are the first and only Australian made products to have the Design Verification and meet the stringent AS1657 – 2018 standard.

The certification means Ullrich can provide local councils, government bodies and private projects with a fully certified product that meets mandatory specifications required by engineers and building standards.

The Certification Standard sets out requirements for the design, selection, construction and installation of fixed platforms, walkways, stairways and ladders that are intended to provide safe access to places used by operating, inspection, maintenance and servicing personnel.

The objective of this Standard is to provide technical specifications and criteria for fixed platforms, walkways, guardrails, stairways, ladders and permanently configured (but movable) platforms that are used in the workplace, to reduce the risks to the safety of users.
